The composite Digital Terrain Model of the Bulgarian Black Sea South Shelf is the result of the processing and compilation of single and multibeam echosounder data gathered by IO– BAS: bathymetric LiDAR data; data from harbor authorities; and data of digitized water depth contours from navigation charts. Multibeam data were acquired under implementation of following Projects: SEEBED funded by NFN in 2009; Route survey for TBP Burgas in 2009; Expanding NATURA’2000 network in the Bulgarian Black Sea funded by MEW in 2011; - CoCoNet (FP7 Project # 287844) in 2013; Hydrographic mapping of the Bulgarian Black Sea Water bodies funded by MEW in 2013; Black Sea MAP, 2015-17 campaigns; Ahtopol project funded by IO-BAS in 2018; and series of small surveys for harbor authorities. Singlebeam data were acquired within the first nautical mile all along the coastal area spacing each 500 m under Hydrographic mapping of the Bulgarian Black Sea Water bodies Project. The soundings were processed by Seafloor-mapping group of IO-BAS (responsible person: Lyubomir Dimitrov (geos@io-bas.bg)) with PDS’2000 (v.3.9.8) a DTM at a source resolution of 14 m (≈1/128 = 0.0078125 arc minute) sell size was created. The area of this composite product embraces about 3690 square kilometers and spreads from cape Emine southward up to the sea border between Bulgaria and Turkey and from the coastline to water depths of 900 m. The composed DTM was batched by Globe software (v. 1.14.4) and a grid sell size of 54 m (≈1/32 = 0.03125 arc minute) was released for the purpose of the Project EMODnet HRSM – phase 2.
